Effective, Professional Communication. Communicating Through Change and Through Normal Chain of Command

As you prepare to graduate from this amazing CPM course, I ask you one question; does your agency routinely make changes? If you answer this in the affirmative, then you will want to be in attendance for this presentation. We will discuss how vitally important professional communication is. How well we communicate is a major factor for an agency’s failure or success. This is an interactive presentation, where attendees are rewarded for their participation!!


Larry Bordeau has 28 years’ experience as a law enforcement officer in the State of Florida. Currently, he is the captain of law enforcement training at the Leon County Sheriff’s Office and prior to that he was the Director of Reentry and Inmate Programs. Prior to Leon County, Larry was the Deputy Director of Security at the Florida Lottery, Chief Deputy Marshal at the Florida Supreme Court, Law Enforcement Coordinator at the Florida Public Safety Institute, Captain-Lieutenant-Sergeant and Criminal Investigator at the Quincy Police Department and a police officer at the Tallahassee Police Department. He is also an Adjunct Professor at Tallahassee Community College and a certified Law Enforcement Trainer.

Larry has a master’s degree in criminal justice administration and is a graduate of both the Senior Leadership program (FDLE, 2014) and Chief Executive Seminar (FDLE, Class 53, 2019). He is also a graduate of the Certified Public Managers Course at Florida State University (2023).  He was elected President of the State Law Enforcement Chief’s Association in 2019 and served his full two- year term.
