How to Become a Certified Public Manager in Florida

The Florida Center for Public Mangement program at Florida State University is aimed at enhancing the quality and efficiency of government agencies by fostering the effectiveness and professionalism of managers. Individuals seeking admission to the Florida CPM Program should be employed in the public or not-for-profit sectors, preferably with at least one year of relevant experience. In certain cases, applicants from the private sector who wish to gain insight into public or not-for-profit management may also be considered for the program. A college degree is not required for admission.

Some agencies have direct contracts with the Florida CPM Program to enroll their employees. Your agency may already have a wait list for you to join. Please check with your HR department before inquiring about the Florida CPM program below.

Admission:

For Individuals

We work with many state and local agencies across Florida. To streamline communication channels, first, check with your HR or training department to see if a partnership already exists. In many cases, they are coordinating lists to sponsor staff members to attend CPM.

If your agency does not have an active or inactive partnership with us, follow this link for more information.

For Agencies

Is your agency interested in hosting CPM? There are two paths to hosting the program, contracted or co-op. Contracted classes are where one agency secures all 25 seats. The co-op model is where one agency hosts, securing no more than 15 seats and allowing for other partners to distribute the remaining seat allotment.
