FLORIDA’S CPM PROGRAM ADDS 395 NEW GRADUATES
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Florida Certified Public Manager (CPM) program will be honoring 388 new graduates this summer. That will bring the total number of CPM graduates in Florida to approximately 8,969 — more than in any other state.
The CPM program is a nationally recognized leadership development program, currently delivered in thirty-eight states. The purpose is to develop more effective public managers, thereby improving services to all Florida taxpayers.
There will be four separate CPM graduation ceremonies this summer, each of which is the culmination of a three-day leadership conference:
- North Florida area: July 17 (183 graduates)
- West Central Florida area: Aug. 14 (65 graduates)
- East Central Florida area: Aug. 21 (102 graduates)
- South Florida area: Oct. 2 (38 graduates)
Florida has one of the most successful CPM programs in the country. The Florida Center for Public Management of the Askew School of Public Administration and Policy at Florida State University administers the CPM program.
These 388 new graduates have completed a rigorous two-year program, including 31 days of classroom instruction, plus required projects and exams. Over one hundred government agencies—including cities, counties, state, and constitutional offices—have participated in the Florida CPM program.
