Daniel Iglesias, a Miami native, holds a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering from the University of Miami. He spent seven years in the private sector working on roadway improvements, water and sewer systems, pump station design, and land development projects. Daniel joined FDOT in 2007 as a Roadway Designer/Project Engineer and later became a Project Manager, leading the Internal Design team on major projects including the I-75/Palmetto Expressway ramp widening and the Alton Road reconstruction. He then served as District Design Engineer, overseeing landmark efforts such as the I-395 Signature Bridge, the Krome Avenue Widening program, and the Golden Glades Interchange reconstruction. In 2020, he became Director of Transportation Development, managing a $3.2B work program, and in 2025 was appointed District Six Secretary, leading FDOT’s work in Miami-Dade and Monroe counties. Daniel is a graduate of FELI and the AASHTO Leadership Institute and has earned numerous honors, including FDOT Leader of the Year. He and his wife, Nikki, have two children.
